Previous Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is reportedly "contacting nearly every team principal" as he pursues a comeback to Formula 1, according to Aston Martin F1 top executive Andy Cowell.

The Silverstone-based squad is included in the teams that have been linked with the ex-boss.

The Aston Martin CEO mentioned he had verified the circumstances with team principal Lawrence Stroll this past Friday at the Marina Bay race.

"It looks as though Christian is getting in touch with most team bosses at the moment," commented the CEO.

"I can definitively state there are no intentions for the participation of Christian in an operational or investment role in the future."

Other Teams Respond

The US-based squad chief Ayao Komatsu revealed that the former Red Bull leader had "approached" the US-based team but continued: "Things haven't advanced. It is finished."

The Renault-owned team executive director Steve Nielsen stated the team's executive adviser and acting leader Flavio Briatore was "old friends" with the former principal.

The Alpine director added: "I don't know what they converse about. All I can confirm is there are no arrangements for Christian to arrive at Alpine but this doesn't imply it might not transpire."

The Grove-based squad boss James Vowles declared that Horner had not contacted them.

"We're quite satisfied with the setup we have and it's functioning," the Williams boss said. "I don't see any reason to modify it."

Historical Information

Horner is eligible to rejoin Formula 1 by the mid-next season after completing a severance package with his former team on the 22nd of September.

The veteran motorsport figure was let go as the team's leader after the British GP in July.

Multiple sources at the racing team have suggested the agreement deal was estimated at €60 million (£52m).
